Fanfiction Rules

For anyone with questions, it helps to have answers nearby and that’s why I’ve created this topic which will hopefully be able to answer the majority of your questions on the Writer's Desk area of Pokemon Turquoise forums. If you’ve got a fan fic question not answered by this topic then feel free to send a PM to me (Turtlecash) about it. I spend a lot of time lurking among the pages of the stories here, so I’ll do what I can to help you find the answer to your question. Now since I shouldn’t blabber on forever, let’s get right into the rules.

Rules

Rule 1:
Pokemon Turquoise forum rules apply here, just as they do everywhere else on Pokemon Turquoise. You can find the rules in the Announcements & News area or you can follow this link:
Forum Rules

Rule 2:
Swearing and mature material should of course be avoided as much as possible, as is stated in forum rules. If however there is no way to get around having these in your story then please post a warning and a rating in the first post of the story’s topic and begin the story itself in the second post.

Rule 3:
Only the author should post in their topic. Any posts not made by the author should go in the discussion topic for the corresponding story. If there is no discussion topic and you really want to comment you could send the author a PM asking them to create one.

Rule 4:
The author should create a discussion topic for their story as soon as the story itself is posted. If for whatever reason you do not want comments on your story, or want comments to be sent by some confidential method, then make sure to specifically state that in the first post of the story’s topic.

Rule 5:
Posting chapters of your story does not violate the forum rule against double posting since it is your own story.

Rule 6:
Non-Pokemon fan fiction, and original stories are both absolutely fine, feel free to post it.

Rule 7:
PLEASE use a spell checker! Even something simple like Word can catch so many problems. You should also read through your stories multiple times before posting them since spell checkers don't catch all errors.

If you think there’s something missing or incorrect in these rules then please send a PM to me (again, that’s turtlecash) about it and I’ll see what I can do to make the rules even better.
